In this portfolio, I am proud to show some of my different projects and creative work. Here you can see the things I have made and the ideas I have explored during my studies

Internships

I completed a six-month internship with Manon de Vlieger, who runs both an interior styling studio and her own rug brand, Mare Studio. During my internship, I had the opportunity to work for both businesses, which gave me insight into different sides of a creative company: interior projects as well as product and brand development.

I enjoyed the variety of tasks and being involved in both creative and practical work. It gave me a better understanding of how ideas turn into real products and how a creative business operates as a whole.

I also completed an internship at Roosmarijn Knijnenburg, where I gained experience in product development and hands-on creative work. During my internship, I supported the team with practical tasks such as packing products, preparing orders, and helping with daily studio activities. This gave me insight into how a creative brand operates behind the scenes and how products are prepared for customers.

What I valued most was the combination of creative input and practical responsibility. It gave me a better understanding of product development, teamwork, and how a creative business operates behind the scenes

My self-designed rug

Gold Coast was inspired by the beauty of the coast and the natural colours of the sea and sand. The design reflects the warmth of sun-drenched sand and the changing tones of the ocean, bringing a calm yet powerful coastal atmosphere into a space.

I really enjoyed the process of designing my own rug from concept to final product. It was a special experience to see my idea develop into something physical and to be involved in every step of the design process. I’m proud that the rug became part of the collection and is now being sold on the website. Seeing my design come to life and actually being available for customers made the project even more meaningful and motivating for me.

My selfdesigned calming stone

Solace is a handmade ceramic stone designed to bring calm and comfort, wherever you are. You can hold it between your thumb and index finger during moments of stress or unrest. It helps reduce tension by engaging your senses and creating a grounding effect. Many people experiencing stress, ADHD, or grief find comfort and focus in using it. Each stone is made with care and attention a small object with a meaningful impact.

The idea came from my own experiences with stress. I noticed that I often start fidgeting with things like my nails or my phone during moments of anxiety, but there was nothing physical that truly helped me feel grounded. This made me think about what kind of object would feel comforting and natural to hold. That reflection inspired me to create Solace, something simple, tactile, and supportive in stressful moments. The product is now part of the brand’s collection and is available for purchase online.

Client projects

During my studies, we regularly work on  assignments for real clients. In these projects, we are challenged to develop innovative concepts and fully elaborate them into professional proposals. We usually carry out these assignments in teams of two or three fellow students, allowing us to collaborate, make use of each other's strengths, and achieve a strong final result together.

Skatestore Noble Goods

We were tasked with redesigning the interior of the skate store Noble Goods. The goal was to create a store layout that better reflected the brand’s identity and the culture of skateboarding, while also making the space more functional and inviting for customers.

We started by researching the brand and developing different ideas through sketches and mood boards. After selecting a clear concept, we worked out the design in detail by creating floor plans and visualizations. This allowed us to present a clear vision of how the new store layout and atmosphere would look and function.

TC Voordaan

We were tasked with redesigning the terrace and outdoor area of Tennisclub Voordaan. The goal was to create a welcoming and functional outdoor space where members could relax, watch matches, and spend time together.

We started by analyzing the existing space and developing ideas through sketches and mood boards to define the overall concept. After that, we created a floor plan and a materials board to show the layout and the chosen materials and furniture. This helped us clearly present how the terrace would look and function as a comfortable and social outdoor environment for the club.

Photoshop

At school, I took lessons in Photoshop, where I learned to edit, style, and combine photos into creative compositions. These lessons strengthened my digital skills and helped me professionally develop and present visual ideas.

Styling

At school, we also had styling classes where we learned to work with a wide variety of materials, such as clothing, fabrics, furniture, and accessories. What I enjoyed most about these classes was being able to work hands-on and get creatively involved. Additionally, I learned many different techniques during these lessons.

Wooden panel with flatlay

We learned how to work with wood panels by sawing, painting, and layering them to create a striking abstract artwork. Finally, we styled it with a matching flatlay of tableware.

Styling with natural earth tones

Store styling with flatlay

For this styling assignment, we were asked to create a table styling as if it were presented in a store display. The goal was to style a table using a selected set of tableware and create a visually appealing composition that highlights the products.
In addition to the table styling, I created a matching flat lay using the same items. By carefully arranging the plates, glasses, and accessories from above, I focused on balance, colour, and composition. This project helped me explore how styling can present products in an attractive and inspiring way

Table styling Christmas

For this assignment, I was asked to style a table with a Christmas dinner theme. The goal was to create a warm and festive atmosphere that would suit a holiday dinner setting.

I focused on combining tableware, decorations, and colours that reflect the feeling of Christmas. By carefully selecting materials, arranging the elements on the table, and paying attention to details, I created a cozy and elegant table setting that brings the festive theme to life.

I also took classes in table styling, where I learned how to combine tableware, colors, and decorations to create a specific atmosphere. I really enjoyed these classes because I love working with details and creating beautiful settings.
I also used these skills for a friend's 16th birthday dinner, where I styled the table to create a festive and personal atmosphere. I really enjoyed doing that.
